Ad Specifications
SuperCoups requires PDF files (X-1A compatible). All
submitted files should be properly sized. Sizes are listed below.
Do not submit Microsoft Word, Excel or Powerpoint files. SuperCoups
does not accept these file formats.
Fonts
If the file you are submitting is not a PDF file and requires fonts, please adhere to the following specifications:
- When submitting PostScript fonts, please be sure to supply both the screen
fonts and the printer fonts.
- If you have created text in Illustrator, convert all text to outlines. This will eliminate any font issues.
Text
For maximum print quality, we strongly recommend that text below 9 points should be assigned 100% black for its color. Registration is not guaranteed for CMYK build text under 9 points.
Colors
SuperCoups is a four-color process printer. When submitting
your ad, please make sure that all the colors for
your ad are built using CMYK only.
Note: We do not print Pantone or Spot colors. These colors must be converted to CMYK at the application level prior to submission. Failure to convert to CMYK can yield unanticipated results.
Colors for the second side of a 2-sided coupon can only
be one of three options:
• CMYK (4/4)
• Black and Magenta (4/2)
• Black (4/1)
Note: Colors on personal monitors and printers may not accurately
reflect the colors that will print on press.
Bleeds
SuperCoups does not produce ads that bleed. Ads must contain correct margins as specified below.
Graphics
Photoshop Artwork
Also know as Raster Art – (Photos, Scanned Art) should be prepared as either .EPS, .TIFF or .JPG files, with the following resolutions:- Photographs at 266-300 dpi (full color)
- Line Art at 600-800 dpi (black and white bitmap)
- Rasterized artwork should be placed in the ad at 100%, the exact size required for the ad. Do not use artwork that has been scaled greater than 135% or less than 50% of the actual size.
- Artwork captured from web sites is low-resolution and is not suitable for use in print.
- Be aware that if a file is low resolution, increasing the resolution manually in Photoshop will not improve the quality of the image.
- Hint: If using a digital camera, please make sure that the Date/Time Stamp feature is disabled when taking your photos.
Illustrator Artwork
Also know as Vector Art – (Line Art)
• If placing any files into an Illustrator file, be sure to embed the
placed artwork.
Copyright Issues
Printed materials (newspapers, magazines, brochures, etc...) are often subject to copyright protections. Web site artwork is almost always subject to copyright protection. If copyrighted materials are submitted, SuperCoups may require written proof of ownership or proof of permission to reproduce the materials. SuperCoups reserves the right to refuse to print artwork that may be protected by copyright.
Hard Copy
You must provide a hard copy with your digital file submissions. If for some reason you need to resubmit a file with revisions, a new hard copy of the revised file must be provided, to ensure that the correct file will be used.
Tip: A notation on the revised hard copy that points to the revision is helpful.
